Method
- Theoretical slots = docks × hours × 60 ÷ turn time.
- Planning capacity = theoretical slots × occupancy target.
- Check the peak hour with the vehicle-processing model.
Proposed solution
Keep 8 docks. Stagger bookings in the peak hour and hold the recommended yard spaces from the vehicle-processing model. Do not add a ninth dock until the booking profile is flattened.
Limitation
If turn time is actually 55 minutes, planning capacity falls below 80 vehicles and the recommendation changes.
