- 18% of the day lands in the peak hour.
- The queue estimate is deterministic: peak arrivals minus hourly capacity.
Method
- Hourly arrival = vehicles ÷ hours.
- Hourly capacity = resources × 60 ÷ process time.
- Yard spaces ≈ vehicles on stand + peak-hour queue.
Proposed solution
Hold the recommended yard spaces and cap peak-hour bookings at hourly capacity. Measure actual turn time for a week before buying civil works.
Limitation
This is not an M/M/c certificate. If carriers arrive in platoons, the queue will be worse.
